Most runners never get even close to winning a race. They turn out week after week, pay their entry fees, finish the race, collect the memento and go home.

The Hayle Runners’ Show the Shirt Competition is not for the Hare who only runs a few fast races each year – instead it is designed to give the endurance Tortoise a chance.

Every time you complete a race in Hayle colours you score points towards the annual competition. The longer the race the more points you collect, it’s that simple. Plus you gain additional bonus points for advertising the club outside the county and even more bonus points if you race outside the UK.

The last qualifying race of each year is the Mob Match which takes place towards the end of November. Then, at the discretion of the club committee, prize(s) are presented at the annual Christmas Dinner / Awards.

Remember you score points in every race from the Turkey Trot to the Berlin Marathon and from the Probus 10k to the Grizzly.

Member David Scott runs the Show the Shirt competition. Please contact David you if have any additions for the list or if you’d like a full breakdown of the statistics.  dascott@live.co.uk
