We meet every Sunday morning for a training run except on days when there are races. The Sunday runs are almost always longer and slower than a typical Club night run and are often used for marathon training. Depending on the time of year and what everyone is aiming for, there are usually distances on offer from about four miles right up to 21 / 22 miles. On busier Sundays there are typically about three to five speed groups – the fastest training at about 7 min miles over longer distances, a middle group or two at about 9 – 10 min miles, and then slower groups which are more about time on feet than speed. For the longer distance runs, we put out water and sweets half way around, but for shorter runs (say less than 10 – 12 miles) please make sure you carry enough water.
Sometimes we run on the coast path, sometimes over fields, tracks and country lanes, and sometimes on quiet country roads. Wherever we go, we promise you will see bits of Cornwall you never knew existed. We also promise we never run anywhere where there isn’t free parking and somewhere for coffee and very nice cakes afterwards. We never leave anyone behind.
All Sunday runs start at 9am (unless stated) so aim to get there by about 8.45 – 8.50 so you can find the right group.
No need to slog your heart out in the garden, complete those DIY jobs or wash the car. Escape the family and come running with us.
